"The Wisdom of Short Practices"
Postcards from the Path:
October 2026
"The Wisdom of Short Practices:"

"We may look alike, but these two are adopted."
Hello friends, wishing you a bountiful scorpio season ahead.
The big news in my life this month has been my two new puppies.
Sure they appear harmless... unless you're chewable!
Together, we've been working and living alongside our neighbors
from the traditional Andean communities.
While doing my best to keep up with them, I've coined the term- "Andean Strong."
It refers to the kind of strength it takes to carry a tree down a mountain. Wow.
Besides that, it's been a month of continuing spiritual learning. And one of the greatest resources I've found along the way is what some call
"Short Practices, Many Practices."
I'll be sharing more about that, and a 5 minute yoga meditation, in this month's video.
Vamos!

Resources for the Path
The wisdom of short practices is simple but profound.
A lot of the progress we make on our path are through small consistent steps that solidify into new ways of living. These may include taking three breaths when feeling overwhelmed, saying some words of gratitude before eating or when waking up, or turning your shower to cold water for a few seconds before exiting.
What short practices have you found supportive?
In this video I share one of my favorites, and it's helped me in countless ways over the years.
In those times when you don’t have the inspiration or motivation to go to the gym or your full yoga practice, why not try "5 minutes seated yoga?"
Or when life leaves you short on time, or you’re experiencing unusual amounts of sadness, anger, or fear.... or a million other reasons to skip your healthy practices and watch movies and eat popcorn on the couch instead!? Go right ahead.
And begin your movie and popcorn night, with a 5 minute seated yoga.
The journey is long and consists of many small steps that add up overtime.
Even with strong practices in the morning or at night, you may find each afternoon you’ll become increasingly tight, constricted, or anxious. These are all great times for a short practice. Whether it's taking a walk in nature, doing a short exercise, or just lying down and closing your eyes for a few minutes.
-
And remember, you can’t be your "best self" all the time. Most of the time we're something closer to our "average self." And our average self may still have the inspiration and willingness to do a 5 minute seated yoga.
Give this practice a try when you have the time and motivation.
And in 2 or 3 viewings, you should be able to memorize it.
Then you’ll have one more resource in your tool kit for the diverse landscape of your spiritual path.
And you can always reach out to me with any questions or to work together.
Happy Journeys Friends!

That's it for this month.
From me and my neighbors of every color, shape and size.
Wishing you a delicious and abundant season of Scorpio .
Nos Vemos!
